Nigeria @66: Bimbo Adekanmbi Lauds Citizens’ Resilience Amid National Challenges

The Oyo State governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement, Bimbo Adekanmbi, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 66th Independence anniversary.

Adekambi in a statement issued to commemorate the nation’s anniversary, commended Nigerians for their resilience and determination in the face of numerous national challenges, noting that citizens have continued to demonstrate an unwavering belief in the unity and oneness of the country.

The former finance commissioner in the state maintained that Nigeria has recorded significant achievements over the past 66 years—the feats that must be protected despite present difficulties.

He said, “I sincerely appreciate Nigerians for standing firm and believing in the unity of our country, refusing to allow our diversity to hinder our collective resolve to develop the great nation bequeathed to us by our founding fathers.”

He emphasized that the contributions of all segments of the population—youth, elders, men, and women—have sustained the nation’s continued existence, adding that this collective spirit must be nurtured to ensure Nigeria returns to its rightful place as the giant of Africa.

Acknowledging the economic difficulties Nigerians have faced in recent years due to certain federal government policy decisions, he commended the citizens for maintaining hope that the country can still be reset for the better.

“The hardship is evident in the rising cost of food, transportation, and other basic necessities. I empathize deeply with Nigerians and affirm that there is hope for a new and better Nigeria,” he stated.

Despite these challenges, he urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to building a nation that both current and future generations can be proud of.

He however charged Nigerians to join the APM and its Presidential candidate, Governor Seyi Makinde to reset the country, by actively and peacefully participating in the democratic process, and making informed choices based on vision, competence, and values as presented by the party.

Adekanmbi also appealed to the people of Oyo State to continue supporting the Makinde led-administration in the state, noting that his projects and programmes are helping the state live up to its Pacesetter status.

He said, “As the nation prepares for another round of elections next year, and in line with the articulated programmes of the APM, I urge the people to support and vote for all candidates of our great party to ensure the sustainability of the development Oyo State has witnessed in the last seven years.”
