The media office of the African Democratic Congress candidate for the Ogbomoso North state constituency, Hon. Akinwale John Oke-Mountain, has dismissed a viral name substitution on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s portal as a “political gunshot and fruitless effort of wicked individuals”.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, the media office said the rumour was similar to one that circulated shortly after the May 22 party primaries, adding that Hon. Oke-Mountain remains the recognized candidate.
The statement urged Ogbomoso indigenes, party members and electorate to remain calm and focused, saying Hon. Oke-Mountain was committed to delivering an all-inclusive representation for the Ogbomoso North State Constituency.
Meanwhile, it called on aggrieved party members and aspirants to rally support for Hon. Oke-Mountain’s candidacy and avoid divisive politics ahead of the 2027 general elections.
