Eidul-Kabir: Alaafin Charges Muslims On Obedience To God, Urges Politicians To Prioritize People’s Welfare

The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, Elewu Etu 1, has called on his subjects, the Muslim Ummah, and all Nigerians to look beyond the slaughtering of rams and use the Eid-el-Kabir festival to imbibe the virtues of absolute obedience, sacrifice, and sincere love for mankind.

Oba Owoade made the call on Wednesday in a statement issued by his Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye, from the ancient Palace of Oyo Kingdom.

The first-class traditional ruler emphasized that the celebration was deeply rooted in absolute submission to the will of Allah, noting that the virtues of obedience and love are essential to the nation, as highlighted in his message.

The monarch further urged the wealthy to support the less privileged, promoting charity and compassion toward neighbors, orphans, and the elderly, describing the acts as ingredients for national progress and fostering human empathy.

He highlighted that integrity and love are key to overcoming national challenges, urging citizens to embrace unity and pray for lasting peace and economic growth of the Nigerian state.

The Royal father however charged politicians in the country to prioritize people’s welfare beyond the present political Jamboree, ahead of the governorship elections coming up in Ekiti and Osun states, and the 2027 General Elections.

Oba Owoade prayed for the peace and economic stability of the country, especially in the wake of the current challenges of insecurity confronting the land.
