The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, Arusa 1, has denied claims that he was planning to unseat the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, describing the allegation as misleading and false.
The monarch in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Adeola Oloko, cautioned against denigrating the royal throne of Olubadan by dragging it into what he termed “dirty politics.”
The statement said, it was illogical to suggest that a traditional ruler could have the constitutional power to remove a sitting governor, stressing that even a local government chairman cannot be impeached by any monarch in the country.
In the same vein, former First Lady of Oyo State and ambassador-designate to Austria, Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi, has dismissed allegations linking her to financial inducements aimed at influencing members of the Oyo State House of Assembly to impeach Governor Makinde.

In a statement issued by her media office, Ambassador Ajimobi vehemently denied the report and described the claims as “entirely false, baseless, and a deliberate act of disinformation” intended to tarnish her image, de-market her and mislead the general public.
The reactions followed separate statements by lawmakers, including the Deputy Speaker, Abiodun Fadeyi and Gbenga Oyekola, who both denied ever receiving inducements from political figures or involvement in any plot to destabilize the state government.
Ambassador Ajimobi also refuted claims that she hosted and participated in any Lagos meeting or elsewhere, where plans to influence the State Assembly were discussed, describing the allegations as malicious and political propaganda aimed at bringing her into disrepute.
The statement however urged the public to disregard the reports, warning that the spread of false information could generate unnecessary political tension and this would be legally addressed, if not retracted.
