The Executive Chairman of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Adeniran, has stressed the need for strengthening community bonds and enhancing strategic private participation to drive sustainable development in Ibadanland.
Dr. Adeniran said this while delivering a lecture as a Guest speaker at the 21st anniversary celebration of The Royal Group, (Egbe Omo Oba Aládé IIè Ibadan), an affiliate of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, held over the weekend at the Kakanfo Inn, Ibadan.
While calling for collective efforts to reposition the city for growth and development, the SUBEB boss urged community leaders and other stakeholders to come together to address the challenges confronting the people, as part of efforts to drive sustainable development and improve the quality of life.
“We need to build strong community bonds and work together to achieve our goals,” he stated.
He however praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his developmental projects across the six geopolitical zones in the state, charging stakeholders from the private sector to partner with the government by investing in key sectors of the economy to bring about the sustainable development.
The highlights of the celebration include the inauguration of new executives, induction of new members, launching of the club’s proposed building and awards presentation to distinguished individuals within and outside Ibadanland.
Earlier in his welcome address, the TRG president, Prince Kamikun Akeula, noted that the club has been supporting educational initiatives, youth empowerment, facilitating community welfare intervention, as well as promoting socio-cultural unity of the ancient city of warriors.
