Kano Government Partners UBEC To Boost Basic Education

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has restated commitment to sustaining a strong partnership with the Universal Basic Education Commission to advance basic education across the state.

A statement released by the state UBEC Director of Social Mobilisation, Balarabe Jazuli, quoted the Governor Yusuf to have given the assurance while hosting the Commission’s Executive Secretary, Aisha Garba, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Kano.

He noted that the state government would continue to admit students strictly on merit and ensure the deployment of qualified teachers and essential non-teaching staff to guarantee a conducive learning environment at the new Bilingual School in Kiru LGA.

“My administration remains committed to sustaining a strong partnership with UBEC to promote basic education across the 44 local government areas of the state,” the governor stated.

He added that the state government has a keen interest in uplifting education at all levels, citing the recent sponsorship of students abroad for postgraduate studies in various fields, in addition to others currently receiving sponsorship within and outside the country.
