As part of activities marking the commencement of its 3rd anniversary celebration, the Ibadan Mega Voice on Friday had a special jumat prayer at the newly constructed Almaroof Oluyole Central mosque, around Sawmill, Ibadan.
The association of media practitioners, who are indigenes of Ibadanland, an affiliate of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, led by its President, Mr. Kola Olomide, was received by the Chairman, Almaroof Oluyole Hajj and Umrah services, Alhaji Maruf Opatola.
Speaking after the prayer, Mr. Olomide appreciated Alhaji Opatola for accepting the invitation to host the special prayer to kickstart this year’s celebration, using the occasion to formally invite him to the Grand finale coming up on Sunday, November 30 at Ibadan House, Oke Aremo, Ibadan.
Responding, Alhaji Opatola assured them of his readiness to be part of the program, as he was presented with a token gift for the mosque to mark their presence.

Earlier in his sermon, the Chief Imam of the mosque, Sheik Qazeem Delesolu, stressed the need for fairness and objectivity in news reportage, charging the media practitioners to always uphold professionalism, as they strive to shape public opinions and promote development.
Other programs lineup for the celebration include; Free Medical Outreach at Ogunpa Market, Walk Against Drug Abuse, Novelty Match with the 3SC management, Youth Day/Talent Hunt and Awards Night.
The IMV used the prayer to express gratitude to God for three impactful years of media advocacy, community engagement and continuous projection of the rich cultural heritage of the ancient city of Ibadanland.
