Folarin Laments Abduction Of Oyo APC Chieftain, Calls On Security Agencies For Rescue

The Agba-Akin Olubadan of Ibadanland and former Senate Leader, Teslim Folarin, has condemned the kidnapping of the Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ibadan South West Local Government Area of Oyo State, Wale Oriade, describing the incident as shocking and unacceptable.

Folarin in a brief statement, called on security agencies to intensify efforts and ensure the immediate and safe release of the victim.

“This is a deeply troubling development. I urge our security operatives to deploy all necessary intelligence and resources to secure his prompt release. My prayers are with his family during this difficult time,” he said.

The former APC gubernatorial candidate also stressed the need for tighter security measures across Oyo State, in order to curb the growing menace of kidnappings, urging the people to remain calm and always provide useful information that could assist the security agents in the rescue efforts of the victims.

Narrating the incident via an Instagram post, an individual, Taoreed Sanusi, said Oriade was taken away by unknown gunmen while leaving his office at the Akala Expressway area of Ibadan, around 7pm on Wednesday.

Sanusi explained further that the victim was forced into a blue Micra car, as reports have emerged the popular commercial transport system in the state capital, has been linked to instances of criminal activities in the ancient city in recent times.
