A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party led by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the party’s former National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has announced the expulsion of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde; Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed; and former Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Bode George.
The announcement came hours after a dramatic confrontation, which occurred on Tuesday at the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
The Wike faction stated that the expulsions became necessary due to what it described as “anti-party activities” and “persistent sabotage” allegedly carried out by the affected leaders.
The faction in a statement issued after an emergency NEC meeting, also dissolved the party’s executives in Oyo, Bauchi, Ekiti, and Lagos states, believed to be loyal to the embattled leaders.
