The remaining three of the five persons reportedly kidnapped last Thursday at the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, CRIN, Ibadan, have regained their freedom.
A reliable source, who pleaded anonymity, revealed that the victims were freed in the early hours of Saturday (today), after an undisclosed sum of money had allegedly been paid as ransom.
Reports gathered explained that the kidnappers had initially demanded a hundred million naira but later settled for an undisclosed amount, after serious negotiations.

Confirming the release, the Oyo state Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said the victims have since been re-united with their families.
The victims were said to be members of the Ogun State chapter of the Cocoa Farmers Association of Nigeria, who were on an official visit to the institute when the incident occurred.
Ayanlade also stated that the three suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Recall that two of the victims were released shortly after the abduction for reasons relating to health concerns.
